US Military History: Korean War

This guide is for use with military history courses taught at University of Wyoming, specifically HIST 2020: US Military History.

Overview

The Korean War was fought between South and North Kora from 25 June 1950 to 27 July 1953. On that date the Korean Armistice Agreement was signed, which created a demilitarized zone between the two nations. However, a peace treaty was never signed and the two nations are still "technically" at war. The resources listed below are useful for studying various aspects of the American involvement in the war, as well as the ongoing military support of South Korea by the United States. The American Heritage Center collections have some unique primary sources from the Korean War.
