MedlinePlus is the National Institutes of Health's Web site for patients and their families and friends. Produced by the National Library of Medicine, it brings you information about diseases, conditions, and wellness issues in language you can understand.

This is a free database to the Plain Language Summaries found in every Cochrane Systematic Review. Links to the French, German and Spanish translations can be found in the upper right corner of the page.

Provides patient education materials for Amharic, Chinese, Hmong, Karen, Khmer, Oromo, Somali, Spanish, Tigrinya, and Vietnamese. Compiled by the University of Washington Health Sciences Library.

Compiled by the National Library of Medicine, this list provides information for patients in over 40 languages. Materials are translated and duplicated in English so that the health professional will know what information is being provided.

Of note is the link to Spanish, which a web page with most of the information found in MedlinePlus translated into Spanish. Also available is a link to RHIN, another source of multiple language health resources for refugees.

Visual support for communication. This site offers simple drawings to aid health care providers when communication with patients who may not understand English. PDFs under Downloads are free. Items under Products are fee based.
