Share References from EndNote Desktop


References in an EndNote Desktop library can be shared in several different ways depending upon need:

  • Sync an EndNote Desktop library with a corresponding EndNote Basic (web version) account.  [From EndNote Basic, custom groups or the entire library can be shared with other EndNote Basic users.]
  • Share your entire EndNote Desktop X8 library with up to 100 other EndNote Desktop users (of version X7.2 or later), enabling simultaneous read and write capabilities.
  • Save groups or entire EndNote Desktop libraries as Compressed Library Files (.enlx) to provide backup or to share with another EndNote Desktop user.
