Study Spaces: Other Study Space on Campus

Overview of types of study space available in the various UW Libraries, including general areas and special-purpose spaces, such as study rooms and computer labs.

Overview

During busier times of year like midterms and finals weeks, library study space is at a premium. Other areas on campus that offer study spaces and/or study rooms are listed below. Availability, hours, and reservations polices fall under each unit and are not affiliated with the UW Libraries.

Classroom Building

  • Rooms 121, 123, 125, 139, and 308 may be reserved through Central Scheduling (6-2487). If the doors are locked, access is granted by asking at the main office on the main level of the Classroom Building. 
  • This building also has a coffee area with tables near the computer lab that could be used for discussions.

College of Business

Rooms 12, 22, 25, 120, 124, 126, 130, 207, 220, and 223 are available.  Rooms may be reserved for use during regular business hours by contacting the dean’s office (6-4194).

College of Education

  • Education Annex Building has an atrium for general use as well as the following classrooms: 211, 215, 225, 229, 304, 308, 314, and 318.  Rooms may be reserved for use during regular business hours by contacting the dean’s office (6-3145) or Central Scheduling (6-2487).
  • Rooms 30, 45, and 47 in the College of Education may be reserved for use during regular business hours by contacting the dean’s office (6-3145) or Central Scheduling (6-2487).

College of Engineering

Rooms 1038, 1038A, 1040, and 1040A are available for small groups on a first come, first served basis during the hours of 7:00 a.m.-7:00 p.m.

College of Law

The Law Library has four group study rooms (Room 123, Blume Room, Room 125a, and Room 008) that may be reserved for 2 hours per group, which may be extended if no other group has reserved the room.  Rooms are reserved at the circulation desk (6-2210).  Groups have priority over individuals.  Beginning four weeks before finals, rooms are reserved for law students only.

Washakie Center

Group study rooms 14 and 18 can be reserved by student study groups.  There is also a community lounge area for general seating and use. The study rooms can seat up to 8 people and may be reserved at http://www.uwyo.edu/reslife-dining/reservewashakie.  Call 6-3075 with questions.

Wyoming Union

  • Wyoming Union room 33 has two study rooms inside the computer lab.  These are available on a first-come first-serve basis. 
  • Nontraditional Student Center room 104 serves as a place for nontraditional students to hold study groups. Contact the Center (6-6258).
