Naxos Overview

Naxos Music Library and Naxos Music Library Jazz are streaming audio databases that provide access to millions of classical and jazz music tracks, as well as thousands of full albums.

Members of the UW community can search the Naxos catalog and listen to tracks on campus via UW Libraries' subscription to the resource. Off campus, students and faculty can access UW's Naxos resources using their UW ID and password. Users can also register with Naxos to create and save student/member playlists, which can be played on a user's computer or mobile device of choice.

How to use Naxos mobile apps

UW Libraries has subscription access to both Naxos Music Library and Naxos Music Library Jazz, and there are mobile apps available for each. Users can set up apps for one or both resources.

To set up an account for the Naxos Music Library app:

  • Click over to Naxos Music Library via UW Libraries' site. (Note: If you're accessing Naxos Music Library from off campus, you will be prompted to enter your UW ID and password before you continue.)
  • Go to the Playlists tab toward the top of the page.
  • Sign up within Student/Member Playlists. (Top right corner of page.)
  • Wait for a confirmation email from Naxos at the email address you entered.
  • Once you receive the email, click the link provided within to confirm your Naxos account. 

To set up an account for the Naxos Music Library Jazz app:

Download the Naxos app:

  • Search for Naxos in your app store of choice (Apple or Android). 
  • OR: access download instructions via UW Libraries' Naxos Music Library and Naxos Music Library Jazz app pages.
  • Finally, log in to the app using the personal account you created

NOTE: There may be lag time between downloading the Naxos app and the app's appearance on your mobile device.
