Where Do I Start?: How to get help

Get instant help with your library or research question from 10am-10pm, 7 days a week!

Check to see if your instructor has a copy of your course text on reserve. This means you can borrow a copy from the library to use for anywhere from a few hours to a whole semester. Save some money!

Meet with a trained writing consultant up to four times per week to receive help with any writing project, at any stage of the writing process. If you would like a real-time consultation, choose a Face-to-Face or Video Conferencing appointment. If you don't want to meet a writing consultant, they have an asynchronous option called Review and Return.

The STEP Tutor Center is UW's primary tutor center. They offer free tutoring in select classes, mostly at the 1000 and 2000 level.

The Center for Assistance with Statistics and Mathematics (CASM), offers free, in-person, drop-in (no appointment needed) tutoring for students who are looking for mathematics or statistics help. Our tutors are qualified to help students enrolled in most math and stats courses up to the 3000 level (with occasional help available for higher level courses).
