De-Stress for (Virtual) Finals Success: Library Pets

Our Current Co-Workers

Many of your librarians are working from home right now, and that means we have different co-workers than usual! Here are some of the friendly faces we get to see while we work.

Knob Creek

Knob Creek loves to chase bunnies and spend as much time outside as possible!

Owned by Samantha Peter, Instructional Design Librarian

Joe & Cerberus

Joe (blue pot, a coffee plant) and Cerberus (yellow pot, a Gold Dust croton). While somewhat less affectionate than a live animal, I've learned some good lessons from these two. Bloom where you're planted, even if it's a tiny plastic pot. Adapt. And some days, feel free to just relax in the sun.

Owned by Shannon Sheridan, Data Management Librarian

Roxy, an 11-year-old dachshund mix loves naps on the fluffiest blankets and is afraid of the wind! Snuggles are her favorite.

Owned by Kristina Clement, Student Success Librarian

Ruby and Hera

Ruby and Hera love to chew on toys and run around in the back yard. Popcorn is their favorite treat!

Owned by Sabrina Heuschkel, Library Assistant Senior

Bingley is a library cat. My former coworkers at the University of Iowa discovered him as an injured kitten crawling along a water pipe in the Main Library basement. In this picture, he was helping me organize and pack for my recent move from Iowa to Laramie.

Owned by Susan Wynne, Discovery & Metadata Librarian

You may recognize Bacon Wicket Kirk from our daily strolls around Prexy's. He enjoys naps, scraps his mom "drops" while she's cooking, walks, and saying hello to every human on the planet.

Owned by Jennifer Kirk, Marketing and Communication Specialist

Ellie might look like a fluffy puppy, but she's actually 15 years old! She loves naps and belly rubs.

Owned by Kristina Clement, Student Success Librarian

Jackson, an 11-year-old border collie who has to be near his people at all times! He lives for fetches.

Owned by Sarah Rhodes, Library Specialist
