We understand that the hardest part of doing research can be identifying keywords. Here are some suggested keywords from your friendly UW library faculty: 

Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Countries and Regions:

  • Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Yemen
  • Greater Middle East, MENAT (Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey)

Languages:

  • Arabic, Hebrew, Persian, Turkish, Coptic (dialect)

Religions:
