Many journal articles include illustration, graphs, tables, and charts that can be really useful for your research. Some library databases let you select the kinds of images you're looking for.
In some databases from EBSCO, like Academic Search Premier, you can turn on the image viewer before you search so that the sidebar of your results will show a thumbnail image of tables and other things you specify you'd like to see.
In ProQuest Central and some other databases from ProQuest, you can do something similar.
