Prior to joining the library faculty at UW in 2006, I worked in reference and instruction positions at Pierce College, University of Washington-Bothell and Cascadia College, and Seattle Central College. I hold a Master of Library and Information Science from the Information School at the University of Washington and a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences (with concentrations in American Studies and Culture, Literature, and Arts) from University of Washington-Bothell.
My research areas include embedded librarianship, information literacy, assessment of student learning, and reading research.
Until I moved to Wyoming, I was a lifelong resident of Washington state. (I thought I was from the west, but now understand I'm from the west coast and that there's a difference.) I miss the rain, the islands, and the salt water but have learned to love the Rockies almost as much as the Cascade and Olympic mountains. I have an ever-expanding list of favorite things, but these are constants: live music, Vivace Coffee, perfume, road tripping the USA, reading as many novels as possible, bourbon tasting, ballet and theater, and spending time with friends and family.
