As the Assistant Dean for Education & Research Services, I'm responsible for the UW Libraries division that includes Digital Collections, Special Collections, and Research & Instruction. We provide teaching and research services including:
- Digitization of unique collections
- Digital scholarship consultations
- Scholarly Communication education and support for academic publishing, Open Access, and Open Educational Resources
- Research Data Management
- Help services: in-person, chat, and email-based research help, in partnership with User Services
- Information Literacy Instruction: customized instruction for UW classes at all levels, with a focus on University Studies FYS and COM courses
- Curriculum support: collaboration with faculty on research assignment design, curriculum design, and creation of learning objects
- Research consultations: individual and small-group appointments for help with student research projects, thesis or dissertation research, faculty research and publication, and more
- Workshops for faculty and graduate students
