Create Alerts in Google & Google Scholar

Google Alerts

To create a search alert within Google Search:

1. Go to Google Alerts.

2. Sign into your Google account (or create an account) if you aren't already signed in.

3. In the search box, type in a topic/keywords. Google will match your keywords.

4. Click "Create Alert."

5. Click "Show options" to set up how often to receive the alert and other options.

Google Scholar

To create search alerts within Google Scholar:

1. Go to Google Scholar.

2. Sign into your Google account (or create an account) by clicking the sign in link at the upper right hand corner of the page.

3. Do a search for the topic you are interested in.

4. Click the "Create alert" icon in the lower left-hand side of the search results page.

5. You will periodically be emailed newly published articles and books that match your search criteria.
